I know what it feels like to start from scratch with God
I didn’t grow up around church. I didn’t know how to read the Bible or walk with God either.
I had to learn slowly (one small step at a time) while navigating new motherhood, anxiety, and a life that felt overwhelming.
That’s why I created Built From Within.
What Got Me Here
I didn't grow up knowing Jesus.
I didn't know how to pray, read the Bible, or understand what faith was supposed to look like.
When I tried to read the Bible, I would start strong.. and then quit.
Not because I didn't want God, but because I had no structure and didn't understand what I was reading.
It felt a lot like walking into a gym for the first time with no plan. I'd try a few things, leave feeling overwhelmed, and eventually stop showing up.
The cycle repeated for years.
Then, at 26 I became a mom. And it rocked my world.
I was struggling with postpartum anxiety, trying to adjust to a completely new identity, and feeling SO lost.
Looking back, I can see that God was using motherhood to capture my heart.
I decided to give Jesus a real chance. Not one of those chances where it's okay if I fall through because I have the rest of my life to figure Jesus out. But a real chance because nothing else was working.
And slowly, through small daily habits, everything started changing.
Sometimes connection with God looks as simple as a walk
One of the biggest ways I learned to connect with God was through movement. No perfect morning routines or hour-long studies, just real conversations with God while walking.
Walking became my space to think. To process. To pray. It became my space to hear God more clearly.
Why I created Built From Within
When starting your journey with Jesus, one of the best things you can do is get in the Bible.
This is where you begin learning who God is, what He says is true, and what you stand for.
Which is easier said than done, right?
Especially when no one ever taught you where to start.
Built From Within was created from my own experience as a beginner. The kind of guide I wish I had.
Simple, daily encouragement to help you:
- Read the Bible consistently
- Understand what you're reading
- Build rhythms with God that fit real life
- Keep showing up - even when life gets messy
A question for you
What do you stand for?
When I first started following Jesus, I couldn't answer that question. Honestly, anyway.
And if it feels hard for you too, you're not alone.
For a long time, the waves of the world were what I stood for.
Which really meant I stood for nothing at all, because the world is always changing it's mind.
And if your identity is built on something constantly changing, you'll always feel like you're trying to keep up.
But here's the secret:
Your identity and what you stand for were never meant to come from the world.
They're rooted in something deeper. Something that cannot be taken from you.
If those feel like empty words right now, that's okay. Come back after six months of consistently spending time with God and read this again. I think it'll mean something different.
So how do you get there?
You build yourself from within.
If you're new to faith, you don't have to figure it out alone
If you didn't grow up around church, feel overwhelmed by the Bible, or simply want help building consistency with God, you're exactly who Built From Within was created for.
Let's walk through it together.
